Windsurfing Levels

Here is an overview of windsurfing skill levels (however, note that only Level 1 lessons are currently offered unless you have your own intermediate or advanced equipment):

Level 1 – Introduction: Your first lesson will cover an overview of beach set-up, an understanding of wind conditions, body positioning and practice on land. You’ll then head out to the water – equipped with a large board and small sail for stability – and will practice riding back and forth.

Level 2 – Intermediate: You’re now ready to start riding on a smaller board and larger sail, for more power and speed. We’ll learn to ride upwind, start using a harness, and perfect the beach start. Level 2 riders will also work on learning a basic, low-power jibe.

Level 3 – Advanced: As an advanced rider, you’ll learn how to: water start, power jibe, and use foot straps to kick your speed up a notch. Now that you’ve mastered the basics of the sport, you’re ready to take it to the next level and ride like a pro.

Pro Skills CoachingInquire with us if you are an advanced rider and would like to learn higher-level skills including freestyle riding and tricks, wave riding, or wind foiling.
